He died Monday (January 6, 2003) at the Liebe
Care Center in Greene.
At the age of 15
months, his mother died in the flu epidemic and
the doctor told his father that Paul would not
live until the next morning. His life was spared
and he attended Dayton No 3. county school, and
as a young boy helped working on the family
farm. At the age of 10 he was given the job of
running the threshing machine called "The Red
Rover Special."
During high school
Paul excelled in sports, lettering in football,

an Elder in January 1961. He sang in the church
choir, helped with Sunday school, and served as
an usher.
As an active member
of the community, Paul served on the board of
directors of the Co-op Creamery, Co-op Elevator,
Round Grove Country Club and Old Round Grove.
Paul's favorite
hobbies were fishing and golfing with Dawn. For
more than 25 years the family spent a week each
year at Leech Lake. Being with his children and
grandchildren was the most important thing of
all.
