Ernest R. Gordon
MANLY
Retired rural Manly farmer Ernest R.
Gordon, 78, died Saturday (May 25, 1965) at his farm
home.
Services will be at 1:30
p.m. Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett, with
the Rev. Harry Peterson officiating. Burial will be in
Kensett Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday
at Hogan-Bremer -Bride Colonial Chapel, Manly.
Born Nov. 26, 1906, in
Worth County, he was the son of Teman and Randy Trustem
Gordon. He attended rural Worth County schools,
graduating from Kensett High School.
He
attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City, and
married Marjorie McKenzy on March 25, 1929, at Fort
Dodge.
He was a
member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett, and farmed
northeast of Manly all his life. Memorials should go to
Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett.
He is survived by his
wife, Marjorie; one daughter, Mrs. Duane (Betty) Huisman,
Waverly; one son, Richard of Kensett; three brothers,
Norman of Manly, and Lawrence and Gaylord, both of
Kensett; six grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.

Lloyd Hinders, 47, of
Osage, died Saturday (May25, 1985) at an Osage hospital.
Services are pending at
Champion Funeral Home, Osage.

Sylvan M. George, 69,
1515 Clark St., Charles City, died Saturday (May 26,
1985) at a Charles City hospital.
Funeral services will be
held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hauser Funeral Home here
with Dr. Paul Heath, associate pastor of Trinity United
Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in
Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.
Sylvan George was born
April 6, 1916 at Forest City, the son of Julius and
Matie (Holt) George. He received his education in Forest
City schools, and on Jan. 19, 1938, married Ruth Runtzel
at Forest City.
He was employed at
Schmidt Plumbing and Heating, Charles City from 1956
until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Trinity
United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be after
2 p.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main
St. Charles City.
Survivors include his
wife, Ruth; one daughter, Mrs. Albert (Judy) Reinke,
Brownsdale, Minn.; two sons, Dennis of Ionia, and Bill,
Fresno, Calif.; one brother, Carroll George, of Forest
City, and four grandchildren.

Juhl
COULTER
Funeral services for Karen Juhl, 82, of Coulter, will
be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran
Church in rural Hampton. She died Friday (May 24, 1985)
in a Hampton hospital.
The Rev Milton Eklud
will officiate. Burial will be in Coulter Cemetery.
Visitation will be
after 1 p.m. Monday at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home
in Hampton.
Mrs. Juhl was a
housewife.
She is survived by
four dauthters, Mrs. Sherwood (Barbara) Hansen of
Hampton; Mrs. Delvin (Helen) Siangi of New Hall, Calif.;
Mrs. Wayne (Kaye) Paullus of Latimer; Mrs. Wesley (Karen
Beth) Wiley of Montara, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren.

MANLY
Florence
Z. Steiner, 87, formerly of Mankato, Minn. died Sunday
(May 26, 1985) at the Manly Care Center.
Funeral
services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the
Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett, with the Rev Harry
Peterson officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside
Cemetery at Blue Earth, with a graveside committal
service at 12:30 p.m.
Florence
Steiner was born June 17, 1897, at Blue Earth, to
Benjamin and Isabell (Leiter) Benson. She attended
school in Blue Earth and graduated from Blue Earth High
School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church,
Blue Earth and a 50-year member of the American Legion
Auxilary.
She was
married to Frank J. Steiner on July 23, 1923, at Blue
Earth, Minn. He preceded her in death in 1968. They
moved to Mankato in 1956 and lived there until she moved
to Manly six weeks ago. Visitation will be after 3 p.m.
Tuesday at the Hogan-Bremer Bride Colonial Chapel, Manly
and at the church prior to service.
Survivors
include two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Helen Jean) Fretty of
Kensett and Mrs. Barton (Ruth) Blakely of N. Mankato,
Minn.; three grandchildren, Mrs. Mark (Patty) Walker of
Iowa City, Mrs. Keven (Sandy) Bruesewitz of Grafton and
Jody Fretty of Ames; three great-grandchildren, Kendra
and Lynnea Walker both of Iowa City and Raechel
Bruesewitz of Grafton; two nieces, Mrs. Ron (Betty)

(Marilyn V.) McDaid, 49, of 1522 N. President, died
Sunday (May 26. 1985) at her home.

F. Martin
CHARLES CITY
Brown F. Martin, owner
and operator of the Martin Deep Rock Oil Co. here for
over 30 years, died Saturday (May 25, 1985) in a Charles
City nursing home. He was 82.
Funeral services will be
at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S.
Main, Charles City.
The Rev. Vernon Sorenson,
pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will
officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles
City.
Visitation will be after
7:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Martin was born March
16, 1903, in Floyd, to Franklin and Lina (Brown) Martin.
He graduated from Floyd High School and attended Upper
Iowa University in Fayette.
On Aug. 18, 1926, he
married Beatrice Hummel in Sterling, Colo. She died in
1982.
Mr. Martin retired from
his oil company business in 1967.
He was a member of
Trinity United Methodist Church and the St. Charles
Masonic Lodge here.
Lloyd Hinders
OSAGE
Funeral services for
Lloyd Hinders, 47, of Osage, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at
Champion Funeral Home, Osage.
Mr. Hinders, a truck
driver, died Saturday (May 25, 1985) in an Osage
hospital.
The Rev. Keith Pals of
Fairbank, where the family lived for a time, will
officiate. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be after
2 today at Champion Funeral Home.
Mr. Hinders was born Nov.
3, 1937, in Rockford, to Clarence and Lena (Ahrens)
Hinders. He attended Floyd schools.
On June 20, 1959, he
married Shirley Bowers. She survives him.
Other survivors include
three daughters, Mrs. William (Laura) Koenigs, McIntire;
Mrs. Nick (Denise) Hess, Lamont, and Susan, in Osage; a
son, Jerry, at home, and three grandchildren.
Also, two sisters, Mrs.
William (Jean) Carter, St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Larry
(Jan) Grummer, Ventura, and two brothers, Donald, Osage,
and John, Clemons.

71, of 907 1st Ave. N. in Clear Lake, died Sunday
(May 26, 1985).

E. Seifert
JOICE --
Wayne E. Seifert, 56, of
Joice, died Saturday (May 25, 1965) at a Mason City
hospital.
Funeral services are
tentatively set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Petersen
Funeral Home, Forest City; with burial at the Madison
Township Cemetery, Forest City. Friends may call
Petersen Funeral Home for confirmation of time.
Wayne Seifert was born
June 19, 1928, at Ledyard, the son of Herbert and Hazel
(Worcestor) Seifert. As a young man he moved to northern
Minnesota where he worked in the logging industry for
several years. From 1950 to 1952 he served with the U.
S. Army in Korea. He, then returned, to Minnesota and
was married to Doris Christensen on March 14, 1958.
After living in Wyoming
for 4 years, he moved to Minneapolis where be started
working as a heavy equipment operator in the
construction industry. From 1971 to 1978 he worked on
construction projects in various parts of the country.
He became disabled in 1978 and had been in failing
health since that time.
Visitation will be after
2 p.m. today until time of service at the Petersen
Funeral Home.
Survivors include his
former wife, Doris of Joice; one daughter, Mrs. Marti
Lee of Lake Mills; four sons, James R. of Big Fork,
Minn., David W. of Austin, Minn., EW3 Mark A. Seifert,
USN, Norfork, VA., Airman 1st class Paul L. Seifert,
USAF, Gulfport, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Maxine)
Wangen of Albert Lea; Mrs. Beatrice Hagen of Arlington,
Wash.; three brothers, Dale, Hubert and Harold, all of
Mauston, Wis.; 5 grandchildren.

Marilyn V. McDaid, 49, 1522 N. President,
died Sunday (May 26, 1985) at home.
Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy
Family Catholic Church, 722 N. Adams, Mason City, with
Rev. Paul Lippstock officiating. Burial will be at
Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.
Marilyn
McDaid was born Feb. 29, 1936, at Forest City to Maynard
and Loretta (Kelly) Nielsen. She attended Forest City
schools and graduated from Forest City High School in
1954. She was also a graduate of La James College of
Cosmetology, Mason City. She was married to Shaun G
McDaid Aug. 16, 1958, at Forest City. She had been a
resident of Mason City since 1958.
Mrs.
McDaid served as a home-helper serving the elderly in
the Cerro Gordo County area through the Cerro Gordo
County Home-maker/Home Health Aide Service. She was an
active member of Holy Family Catholic Church St. John's
Circle at the church, member of the Catholic Daughters
of America, taught CCD at Central Catholic Schools,
Mason City, and served as a Lay distributor at Holy
Family Catholic Church.
Visitation
will be after 2 p.m. today at Hogan-Bremer Colonial
Chapel, 126 3rd NE, with a parish wake at 7:30 p.m. at
the funeral home.
Survivors
include her husband, Shaun; four daughters, Mrs. Randy
(Mary) Klang, Mrs. Jack (Rose) Swenson, Collette and
Eileen McDaid, all of Mason City; two sons, Shaun of
Faribault, Minn., and Brian, of Mason City; her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Nielsen of Ventura; two sisters,
Mrs. Richard (Janette) Schmidt of Nebraska City, Neb.
and Rosemary Shoop of Clear Lake; 4 grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.

Swan, 49, of Antioch, Illinois, died Monday (May 27,
1985) at a Forest Lake, Ill., hospital.
Funeral
services will be Wednesday at Zion, Illinois with
graveside committal service at 3 p.m. Thursday at the
Osage cemetery.
John Swan
was born June 18, 1935, at St Paul, Minn. He was married
to Delores Johnson on June 22, 1962 at Osage. They
resided in Antioch since 1975 where he worked for the
United States Internal Revenue Service.
The family
requests that memorials be given to the American Cancer
Society. The Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge
of arrangements.
Survivors
include his wife, Delores of Antioch; his parents,
William and Elna Swan of Wayzata, Minn.; two sisters,
Mrs. Allan (Elizabeth) Albus of New Hope, Minn. and Mrs.
Paul (Karen) Guenter of St. Paul, Minn.; one brother,
David Swan of Minneapolis.

Harley Stadtlander

Fred Harley Stadtlander,
87, rural Rowan, died Saturday (May 25, 1985) at a
Belmond hospital.
Funeral services will be
held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist
Church, Rowan, with the Rev. Joan Moss officiating.
Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery, Rowan.
Fred Stadtlander was born
Feb. 15, 1898, in rural Franklin County to Chris and
Christine (Larsen) Stadtlander. He was married Feb. 17,
1920, at Hampton, to Ida Sophia Muhlenbruch. She
preceded him in death in 1982. He was a retired farmer.
Visitation will be after
10 a.m. today, at the Fulton Funeral Home, Belmond.
Survivors included two
daughters, Mrs. Albert (Ione) Langdon of Ostrander,
Minn. and Mrs. Loren (Marladean) Hadley of rural Rowan;
one brother, Leonard of Latimer; 8 grandchildren; 10
great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was
preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
James
E. Lowman
ALGONA
James E. Lowman, 56, of
Algona, died Saturday (May 25,1985) at the Veteran's
hospital, Des Moines.
Funeral services will be
held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the
Geilenfeld-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home here, with burial
at the Riverview cemetery. Graveside military services
will be conducted by the VFW and the American Legion of
Algona.
James Lowman was born
June 14,1928, at Hobarton, Iowa. He attended rural
schools northwest of Algona and Fenton High School. He
enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June 1946 at Mason City and
served over 20 years in the Navy. He served onboard the
aircraft carrier Yorktown three times.
While stationed in Japan
he married Mickie Kuwahara on Nov. 20, l963 at the
American Embassy in Tokyo. The same year he was
transferred to Whidby Island, Wash., where he served as
an air traffic controller until retiring from the Navy
in July 1970 at the Great Lakes Naval Station, Chicago,
Ill.
He moved back to Algona
after retiring and worked for Everds Bros. Road
Construction for 5 years until he had heart surgery and
was unable to work. He was a member of the Algona VFW,
and enjoyed sports, fishing, hunting and playing cards.
Visitation will be after
2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his
wife, Mickey; one son, Gene of Storm Lake; his mother,
Mrs. Alta Lowman of Algona; one sister, Mrs. Iris Keith
of Grand Prairie, Tex., and one brother, Douglas of
Portland, Ore.
Loraine F. Boekelman
TITONKA
Loraine F. Boekelman, 69,
of Titonka, died Monday (May 27,1965) at an Algona
hospital.
Funeral services win be
held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist
Church here, with the Rev. Paul Grandon officiating.
Burial will be at the Buffalo Township cemetery, rural
Titonka.
Loraine Boekelman was
born Feb. 6, 1916, at Worthington, Minn., to Eric and
Lyda (Vickerman) Peterson, She moved to Titonka at the
age of 4, received her education there, and graduated
from Titonka High School in 1934.
She worked at various
jobs before marrying George Boekelman at Belmond on Nov.
8, 1945. She lived all her married life in Titonka and
entered the Titonka Care Center in 1976. She was a
member of the United Methodist Church, Titonka and the
VFW Auxiliary.
Visitation will be after
12 noon today at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral
Home, Titonka.
Surviving is her husband
George of Titonka.
Walter Tom Moats
BRITT
Walter "Tom" Moats, 64,
of Britt, died Monday (May 27, 1985) at his home.
Funeral services will be
held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Britt Congregational
United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Clyde Lee
officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen cemetery,
Britt.
Walter (Tom) Moats, the
son of Charles and Lydia (Gribble) Moats was born Nov.
19, 1920, at Fairchance, Pa. He attended schools in
Fairchance and entered the Army Air Force on June 24,
1942. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Viet Nam. He
was married to Donna Baxter on Aug. 15, 1947, at
Oakland, Maryland.
Following his discharge
in 1966, the couple moved to Britt where they have
resided since. He was employed by Winnebago Industries
for 12 years and later was with the Britt Community
schools. He was a member of the Britt Congregational
United Church of Christ, the V.F.W. and the American
Legion.
Visitation will be after
2 p.m. today at the Carter-Ewing Funeral Home, Britt.
Survivors include his
wife, Donna and one brother, Frank of Uniontown, Pa.

Dahlby, 66, of Lake Mills, died Monday (May 27,
1985) at Farmington, Minn.
Funeral
services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the
Bethany Lutheran Church, Joice, with the Rev. John
Albrecht officiating. A dinner will be served at 12 noon
at the church. Burial will be in the Concordia cemetery,
Joice.
Duayne
Dahlby was born April 14, 1920, at Lake Mills, to Paul
and Clara (Brunsvold) Dahlby. He was married to Helen
Stephenson March 2, 1941, at Joice. Mr. Dahlby owned
several apartments and did carpenter work.
Visitation
will begin today until time of service at the
Mittelstadt Funeral Home here.

include his wife, Helen; one daughter, Mrs. Phillip
(Karen) Ridout of Huntington Beach, Calif.; five sons,
Stephen of Rochester, Minn., John of Waverly, David of

sisters, Sibyl Sand of Lake Mills, Mrs. Robert
(Jeanette) Payne of Sun City West, Ariz., and Marilyn

Lake, died Sunday (May 26, 1985) at a Mason City
hospital.
Funeral
services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zion
Lutheran Church, 112 N 4th St, Clear Lake, with
the Rev. Keith L. Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be
at the Concord Cemetery, Garner.
George Knopf was born May
3, 1914, at Renwick, Iowa, the son of Julius and Agusta
Knopf. He was married to Edna E. Hoeft Nov. 2, 1935, at
LuVern, Iowa.
He was a
1931 graduate of LuVern High School and farmed in the
LuVern and Ventura areas for many years. He was a
resident of Clear Lake for approximately the last 22
years, and was employed by the City of Clear Lake for
several years. Mr. Knopf was a member of Zion Lutheran
Church.
Visitation
will be after 2 p.m. today at the Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, 101 N 4th, Clear Lake.

include his wife, Edna; four daughters, Mrs. Gary
(Arlene) Jass of Mason City, Mrs. Ellery (Darlene) Wood

1985) at a Mason City nursing home.

Helen Busch
GARNER
Helen
Busch, 78, of Gamer, died Tuesday (May 28, 1985) at the
Britt hospital.
Memorial
services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at St Boniface
Catholic Church, Garner, with Monsignor Roger O'Brien
officiating. The body was donated to the Mayo
Foundation, Rochester, Minn.
Catalo
Funeral Chapel, Garner, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Busch
was born June 21, 1906 at Hutchinson, Minn., to Wendel
and Mary (Marvin) Pessek. She was educated in
Hutchinson, Minn., and on April 30, 1930 married John
Busch at Howells, Neb. In 1937 they moved to Iowa and
lived in the Hayfield area all their married life. A
year after Mr. Busch died in 1973, she moved to Prairie
View Apartment, Garner.
Mrs. Busch was a member
of St Boniface Catholic Church, Garner, and the You Go I
Go Club.
Survivors
include one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Mildred) Merkel,
Denver, Colo.; one son, James, Charles City; five
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one
brother, Frank Pessek South St Paul, Minn.
Faye Soumas Schmidt
RIVERTON, Wyo.
Funeral
services were held Friday, May 24, at St, Margaret's
Catholic Church, Riverton, Wyo., for Faye Soumas
Schmidt, 77, of Riverton, Wyo., who died May 21, 1985 at
a Riverton hospital.
The Rev.
Ron Stolcis officiated and burial was in Mountain View
Cemetery in Riverton.
Mrs.
Schmidt was born Sept. 6, 1907 in Evola, Greece, to
James and Bessie (Apostolou) Zanios. She moved to
Riverton 14 ago, and lived much of her adult life in San
Bruno, Calif. A housewife, Mrs. Schmidt had also worked
in a department store and was self-employed in a
restaurant. Her husband of 46 years, Dan Soumas died in
September 1971.
She was a
member of the Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the
Daughters of Penelope.
Memorials
may be made to the Diabetes Association, Leukemia
Foundation or the Heart Fund, through the Davis Funeral
Home, in Riverton.
Survivors
include her husband, Richard Schmidt, whom she married
eight years age in Idaho, two sons, Tom Soumas, Coeur
dAlene, Idaho, and Riverton Mayor James Soumas; two
daughters, Pauline Schreiber, South San Francisco,
Calif., and Zoee Dress, Fallston, Md., 15 grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tom Zanios,
Mason City; George Zanios, Madeira Beach, Fla., and
Chris Zanios, Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and seven sisters,
Marie Malaktaris and Stella Pathoulas, both of Mason
City; Jean James, Dearborn, Mich.; Louella Rumeliote,
Bloomington, Minn.; Gertrude Ringus, Tarpon Springs,
Fla.; Elizabeth Paras, El Segundo, Calif., and Helen
Berris, Detroit, Mich.
Audrey Reisetter
KANAWHA Audrey
Reisetter, 72, of Kanawha died Monday (May 27, 1985) at
the Britt hospital.
Funeral services will be
1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church here, with the
Rev. Harlan Stenberg officiating. Burial will be in
Amsterdam Township cemetery, Kanawha.
She was born Feb. 9, 1913
in Missouri to Elmer and Mildred (Herron) Morris. She
came to Iowa with her parents and attended schools in
Corwith, later graduating from Kanawha High School. She
worked in Mason City for a short time and in 1930 was
married to Mitchell Bumgardner at Belmond.
In 1950 she was married
to Frank Reisetter at Tucson, Ariz. The couple made
their home in Kanawha and later in the Boulder, Colo.,
area. Following the death of her husband Frank in 1969,
she moved back to Kanawha. She was a member of the
United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church
Women.
Visitation will be after
2 p.m. today at the Carter-Ewing Funeral Home, Kanawha.
Survivors include one
son, Bradley Reisetter of Ames; one daughter, Kathy
VanderPloeg, Auxvasse, Mo., two sisters, Mrs. Dale
(Bernice) Conklin, San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Omar
(Lavonne) Maland, Kanawha; one brother, Hershel Morris,
Kanawha; and two grandchildren.

Baumgartner, 86, 2603 S. Monroe, died Monday (May 27,
1985) at a Mason City nursing home.
Funeral services will be
1 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N.
Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Murley A. Severtson,
visitation pastor, officiating. Burial will be in
Memorial Park Cemetery here.
She was born Feb. 1, 1897

Christensen. She moved with her family to rural Forest
City at an early age. On Dec. 15, 1915, she was married
to Clifford Baumgartner at Miller. In 1917 they moved to
Mason City where she had lived since. Mr. Baumgartner
died in 1939. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church, Mason City.
Visitation will be at
Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 2nd NE, from
1:30 p.m. Thursday until noon Friday. The family
requests memorials be given to the Anna M. Baumgartner
Memorial Fund.
Survivors include three
daughters, Mrs. Arthur (LaVaun) Pickney, Hayward,
Calif.; Mrs. Henry (Anita B.) Legler, Mason City, and
Mrs. James (Marilyn) Olson, Wesley: one sister, Mrs.
Clarence (Valeta) Garms, Mason City; five grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.

Major, 71, 302 2nd NE, died Tuesday (May 28 1985) at a
Mason City hospital.
Graveside
services will be held at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park
Cemetery here. The Rev. Robert L. Newberry of
First Baptist Church. Mason City, will officiate.
Visitation will be after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at
Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd NE.
Miss Major
was born March 16, 1914, in Hillsdale, Wyo., to William
and Margaret Major. She lived for three years in
Arkansas and then moved to Mason City where she had
lived the rest of her life.
She worked
as a housekeeper in various homes and attended a Baptist
church here.
There are
no survivors.
Brown F.
Martin
CHARLES CITY
Brown F. Martin, owner and operator of the Martin Deep
Rock Oil Co. here for over 30 years, died Saturday (May
25, 1965) at a Charles City nursing home. He was 82.
Funeral services will
be 10:30 a.m. today at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S.
Main, Charles City.
The Rev. Vernon
Sorenson, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church
here, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside
Cemetery, Charles City.
Mr. Martin was born
March 16, 1903 in Floyd, to Franklin and Lina (Brown)
Martin. He graduated from Floyd High School and attended
Upper Iowa University in Fayette.
On Aug. 18, 1926, he
married Beatrice Hummel in Sterling, Colo. She died in
1982.
Mr. Martin retired
from his oil company business in 1967. He was a member
of Trinity United Methodist Church and the St Charles
Masonic Lodge here.
Survivors include one
daughter, Mrs. Gary (Jeanine) Mills, Charles City, and
five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be
1:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Buffalo
Center, for Ellen Walters, 79, of Buffalo Center, who
died Tuesday (May 28, 1985) at a Mason City hospital.
The Rev. Leland Webb will
officiate and burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery,
Lakota.
Visitation will be 4:30
p.m. today at Winter Funeral Home, Buffalo Center.
Mrs. Walters was born
June 10, 1905 in Kossuth County to Alfred and Mary
O'Keefe. She married Norman Walters on Nov. 16, 1932 in
San Diego, Calif. He died in June 1978.
Survivors Include two
sisters, Mrs. Alice Patterson, Lakota, and Mrs. Elva
Ellman, Blue Earth, Minn., and one brother, Daniel
OKeefe, Buffalo Center.

Funeral services for Mrs.
Clifford (Anna M.) Baumgartner, 88, of 2603 S. Monroe,
will be l p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N.
Pennsylvania. The Rev. Murley A. Servertson will
officiate. Mrs. Baumgartner died Monday (May 27, 1985)
at a Mason City nursing home.
Burial will be in
Memorial Park Cemetery here.

MASON CITY
Laura E. Zeimen, 89, of
the Good Shepherd Geriatric Center, Mason City, died
Saturday (May 25. 1985) at the center.
Funeral services were
held Tuesday, May 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Sutherland. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Sutherland.
Mrs. Zeimen had lived in
Mason City since 1963 and at the Good Shepherd Geriatric
Center since 1977.
Survivors include one
daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Lenora) Strahman, Cheyenne, Wyo.;
four sons, Leo, Los Angeles, Calif.; Clarence, Fort
Atkinson, Wis.; Bob, Tampa, Fla., formerly of Mason
City, and Gary, Ossineke, Mich.; 16 grandchildren,
including Diane Minert and Mrs. Tom (Sandy) Minert, both
of Mason City, and Dave Gaebel, San Jose, Calif., and 14
great-grandchildren.
Marion Winter

John (Marion) Winter, 66, of Rake, died Tuesday (May 28,
1985) at a Mason City hospital.
Mrs. Winter had worked at
Deluxe Products, Lake Mills.
She was born Sept. 21,
1918 at Rake, the daughter of John and Bertha Frerichs.
She graduated from Rake High School and spent most of
her life in Rake. Mrs. Winter married John Bud Winter
on Dec. 13,1935 at Estherville.
Funeral services will be
10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Rake, with
the Rev. Arlyn Norris, officiating. Burial will be in
West Cemetery, Rake.
Visitation will be 2 p.m.
today at Winter Funeral Home, Buffalo Center.
Survivors include her
husband, John; one daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Cheri)
Mayland, Thompson; three sons, Jerry and Mark, both of
Rake, and Donald, Lake Mills; 11 grandchildren and three
great grandchildren; and one brother, Johnnie Frerichs,
Blue Earth, Minn.

CLEAR LAKE
Todd E. White, 21, a former Clear Lake resident
stationed with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Va., died
Friday (May 24, l985) at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital
following an accident aboard ship.
Funeral services will be
1 p.m. Friday at the Augustana Lutheran Church, Boone.
Burial will be in the Linwood. Park Cemetery, Boone,
with full military rites.
He was born Oct 27,
1963 at Mason City to Russell and Rita (Marshall) White.
He was married to Pam Phipps on July 9,1983 at Boone.
Visitation will be
from 7 to 9 tonight and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at
the Schroeder Funeral Home, Boone. Survivors include his
wife, Pam, and infant son, Bryan, of Norfolk. Va.; his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell White, Clear Lake; one
sister, Jodi White of Clear Lake; two brothers, Daniel
and Jasson, both of Clear Lake; and grandparents, Greg
Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. Bob White, all of Clear Lake.

Robert A Laurie, 92, of
222 S. Pierce, a former linotype operator for the
Globe-Gazette, died Thursday (May 30, 1985) at a Mason
City hospital.
Masonic services will be
held by Harding Lodge No. 649 A.F. and A.M. at 7:30
tonight at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 2nd NE.
Graveside committal services will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield, with the Rev.
Donald Simmonds, pastor, of First Presbyterian Church,
Mason City, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral
home from 7:30 tonight until 9a.m. Saturday.
Mr. Laurie was born July
31, 1892 in Seymour to Peter and Mary (Paton) Laurie. On
Nov. 16, 1916 he married Matilda Zeiger in Hampton. He
worked for a newspaper in Sheffield, then for a
newspaper Northwood before coming to Mason City in 1924.
He worked for the Mason City Globe-Gazette as a linotype
operator until he retired in 1961.
He was a member of the
First Presbyterian Church, Mason City, a member of
Harding Lodge No. 649 A F. and A.M., and a past master
of Harding Lodge. He was also a member of Typographical
Union No. 118.
He is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. William (Ruth Ann) Swogger, Mentone,
Calif., and one granddaughter, Susan Swogger.

Morris K. Hauge, 63, of
716 S. Polk Place, died Thursday (May 30, 1985) at his
home.

Lila Reyerson
NORTHWOOD
Lila Reyerson, 79,
Northwood, died Wednesday (May 29, 1985) at an Albert
Lea, Minn., hospital.
Funeral services will be
1:30 p.m. Saturday at Silver Lake Lutheran Church, rural
Northwood. The Rev. Allan Stoa will officiate. Burial
will be in Silver Lake Cemetery.
Visitation is after 2
p.m. today at the Conner Colonial Chapel, Northwood.
Mrs. Reyerson was born in
Worth County and attended rural schools. She and her
husband, Clarence, farmed for many years in Harland
Township of Worth County. They moved to Northwood in
1961. Her husband died in March of this year.
Mrs. Reyerson's hobby was
music and she played the accordion, piano, and violin.
She was a member of the Silver Lake Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be given to
the donor's choice.
Survivors include two
daughters, Lovie Heizelman, Mason City, and Wilma
Bendickson, Algona; two sons, Cecil Reyerson, Northwood,
and Wally Anderson, Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Tina
Mudeking, Albert Lea, Minn., Mrs. Bertha Olson, Austin,
Minn., and Mrs. Clara Anderson, Lake Mills; 16
grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Jane Christensen, 70, of Clear Lake died Thursday (May
30. 1985) at a Mason City nursing home.
Funeral arrangements are
