Visitation is planned for Tuesday, April 7, from 4-8:00 p.m., at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m., at the Hampton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery.

Alice Lavonne Muhlenbruch, 79, of Hampton, died on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 17, from 4-7:00 p.m., at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 18, at 10:30 a.m., at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery.

Jeanette I “Janet” Porter, 88, of Hampton, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 20, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Hampton, with burial in the Lindenwood Cemetery in rural Geneva. The Rev. Jan S. Ekstedt officiated at the service. The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton, was in charge of the arrangements.

Molly (Maise) Steenhard, a former long-time resident of Hampton, passed from this life on her 95th birthday, Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Madrid Home in Madrid, where she had been a resident since July of 2007.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, at the Hampton United Methodist Church, from 9-11:00 a.m., with services to follow at 11<00 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Edward R. Peterson and Chaplin Carla Werre will be officiating. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery. The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton, is in charge of the arrangements.

Myrtle M. Schulz, 95, of Hampton, died on Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 21, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton, with the Rev. Dr. Edward R. Peterson officiating. Burial was in the West Fork Cemetery in rural Sheffield.

Robert "Bob" James Nemmers, Sr., 78, of Mazon, Illinois, formerly of Latimer, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Joliet Community Hospice in Joliet, Illinois.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 30, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer, with the Rev. Tom Cofer officiating. Burial will be in the Dumont Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 28, from 4-8:00 p.m., at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, April 29, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton, with the Rev. Karl Bollhagen officiating. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery.

Jay Michael Balek, 24, Cedar Falls, died on Sunday morning, April 26, 2009, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, after a brave battle with brain cancer.

Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 29, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel in Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, April 30, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City, with the Rev. James Magelssen officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood-St Joseph Cemetery.
