August 8, 2001
FOREST CITY-James A. Erickson, 80,
died on Friday, August 3, 2001, at the Hancock County
Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Funeral services
were held on
Monday, August 6, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City. Reverend
Gary Marzolf of the United Methodist Church officiated.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Erickson and his wife, Ione
of Forest City; seven nieces, Kathy Kirkwood of Butler, Pennsylvania, Carol
Shirk of Forest City, Julie Olson of Thompson, Linda Severson of
Forest City, Sheila Finer of Lake Mills, Jenifer Thayer of
Emmetsburg and Amy Faulkner of Tiffin; a nephew, Fred Fraizer of
Thompson; and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Anna Jensen, 83
August 8, 2001
LAKE MILLS-Anna O. Jensen, 83, of Lake Mills,
died on Saturday, August 4, 2001, at Sandy's House of Care
in Janesville, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 11, at
the Salem Lutheran Church
in Lake Mills. The Rev. Roger Dykstra will officiate. Casket bearers will
be Mark Solomonson, Steve Solomonson, Scott Rew, Brice Solomonson
and Tyler Rew. Burial will be in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the
church. The McRaith Funeral Home of Waseca is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include her son-in-law, David Solomonson of Austin,
Minnesota; one brother, Stanford Sonderland of Lake Mills; one sister,
Galean Deines of Lake Whales, Florida; four grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; her daughter,
Marilyn Solomonson; three brothers, Tom, Ole and Joe; and one
sister, Sylvia Gunning.

Erwin Nerem, 72
August 15, 2001
FOREST CITY-Erwin S. Nerem, 72, of Forest
City,
died on Thursday, August 9, 2001, at the Muse Norris Hospice
in Mason City.
Funeral services
were held on Monday, August 13, in the Madison Township Cemetery,
Forest City. The
Rev. Gerald Dyste officiated.
Survivors include his wife, Donna
Nerem of Forest City; a son, Larry Nerem of Forest City; a
daughter and her husband, Joleene and Steve Hart of Savonburg,
Kansas; and five Hart grandchildren, Marcia of Manhatten, Kansas,
April of Garnett, Kansas, Nathan of Overbrook, Kansas, Spencer of
Iola, Kansas and Caitlyn of Savonburg, Kansas.

Joseph Baker, 69
August 15, 2001
GREENVILLE, NC-Joseph D. Baker, "Hobo Joe", 69, passed away
on
September 18, 2000.
Joe, a native of Pitt County, had lived and worked in Reno, Nevada
and in Chicago before returning to Greenville, North Carolina to retire.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley; daughter, Jeannie; grandson,
Jimmy; step-daughter, Darla; step-son, Doug and step-granddaughter,
Jasmine.

Jasmine Oudekerk
August 15, 2001
FOREST CITY-Funeral services for Jasmine Lynn Oudekerk, were held
on
Saturday, August 11, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Forest City. She was stillborn at
the
Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City. The Rev. Doug
Farrell officiated. Burial was in the Lime Creek Lutheran Cemetery,
rural Lake Mills.
Survivors include her parents, Ryan and
Stephanie; grandparents, Gail Swalve and Dennis Potter of
Thompson and Terry and Loretta Oudekerk of Crystal Lake;
great-grandparents, Lewis and Donna Swalve, Beverly Martinson,
Everdina Folkerts, Myrna Oudekerk, Alvin and Marjorie Stecker and
Gene and Ruth Hermanson; two uncles, Dana Oudekerk and Steven
Potter; four aunts, Mindy Oudekerk, Sondra Norland, Kelley
Sorenson and Amanda Potter; along with many other great-great-grandparents, great-aunts and great-uncles.

August 15, 2001
ALBERT LEA, MN-Mary Naomi Harriman, 94, of Albert Lea, Minnesota
and formerly of Kanawha, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2001, at the Good
Samaritan Home in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday,
August 14, at the United Methodist Church in Kanawha, with Pastor
Susan Detwiler officiating. Burial will be in the Amsterdam Township
Cemetery near Kanawha.

Violet Steiff, 87
August 15, 2001
FOREST CITY-Violet I. Steiff, 87, of Forest
City,
died on Sunday, August 12, 2001, at the Muse Norris Hospice
in Mason City.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, August 15, at the United Methodist
Church in Forest City. The Rev. Gary Marzolf officiated.
She is survived by
her son and his wife, Roger and Nancy Hodson of Forest City; two
brothers, Erland Gettis of Salem, Oregon and Pat Gettis of Lincoln
City, Oregon; two sisters, Pearl Thompson of McMinville, Oregon and
Carmen Pitts of Salem, Oregon; four grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

August 15, 2001
FOREST CITY-Roger A. Hustrulid, 64, of
Forest City,
died on Monday, August, 13, 2001, at the Muse
Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services
will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, August 16, at the St. Paul
Lutheran Church in Garner. The Reverends Clyde Kieschnick and
Robert Bronson will officiate. Burial will be in the Concord Township
Cemetery, Garner. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday,
at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Garner and one hour prior to the
services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the St. Paul
Lutheran Church or to the Hospice of North Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Anne of Forest City; three
daughters, Lucinda Anne Draisey and her husband, Dana of Sioux
Falls, South Dakota, Melinda Dawn Johnson and her husband, Brian
of Burnsville, Minnesota and Jennifer Lou Hustrulid of Burnsville,
Minnesota; four grandchildren, Alexandra and Patrick Draisey and
Benjamin and Taylor Johnson; six brothers and sisters, Oliver
Hustrulid and his wife, Bonnie, Palmer Hustrulid and his wife,
Marilyn, Wayne Hustrulid and his wife, Marge, Elaine Hedeen, Helen
Larsen and her husband, Roger and Phyllis Lundberg and her
husband, Douglas, all of Beresford, South Dakota.
