Kenneth
Rhea Carrell, 66, died Friday, June 30, 1995, at his
home in Stanley.
A Celebration of Life was held Monday, July 3,
at Our Saviour's
Lutheran Church in
Stanley. Memorials may be made to
Our Savior's Lutheran
Church or Victory
Medical Center, Chapel Fund.
Kenneth Carrell was born Aug. 27, 1928, to Ethel
Carrell and Guy Carrell
in Phelps County, Mo. He attended school
in Rolla, Mo., and graduated
from Buchanan High School, Troy, Mo. He
attended Westminster College, Fulton,
MO. and
received his B.A. from Northeast
Missouri State University, Kirksville, Mo.,
and Doctor of Osteopathy
from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Carrell interned at Davenport Osteopathic
Hospital and served a surgery
preceptorship under Murry L. McCreedy, M.D. at Washington County
Hospital, Washington, Iowa. He practiced medicine in Columbus
Junction, Iowa, from 1960-1980 and with the Marshfield
Clinic-StanleyCenter
from 1980 until his retirement in 1993.
While in Iowa he was a member of the Iowa Society
of Osteopathic
Physicians and Surgeons, serving as president in
1971-1972 and Speaker
of the House 1976-1980. He was a member of the Iowa
State Board of
Medical Examiners, Chairman of the Governor's Select
Committee on
Utilization of Physicians Assistants, Physician's
Adviser-Hospital
Professional Standards Review Organization, Medical
Examiner for
Louisa County 1961-1980, and served as Chief of
Staff for Washington
County Hospital 1972-1976. He was a Preceptor for
Family Practice
programs for University of Iowa, Kirksville College
of Osteopathic
Medicine and Case-Western University. He served as
team physician
for the Columbus
Junction Wildcats and was awarded Iowa State
Physician of the
Year by the Iowa State High School
Athletic Association in 1980.
Dr. Carrell was active in Boy Scouts of America,
serving as
commissioner and assistant scout master, receiving
membership in
the Order of the
Arrow. He was a member of Louisa County VFW and
American Legion, Scottish Rite Mason--32nd degree,
and Shrine
(Kaaba Temple) in
Davenport, Iowa. He was a member of Our Savior's
Lutheran
congregation serving as a Sunday School
teacher and council member
and
was a member of the church choir. He participated in the
Community
Players in Columbus Junction and Stanley,
enjoying t character roles.
He served in numerous capacities at Victory
Medical Center and
was chief of staff for two terms.
He was married to Donnarae Huey, July 4, 1951, at
Clear Lake,
Iowa, and
was father and grandfather to Tom,
(Betsy), Andrea,
Samuel, Huntehee ...
Davenport, Iowa. He was a member of Our Savior's
Lutheran congregation serving as a Sunday School
teacher and member and
was a
member of the church choir. He participated in the Community

Tad Ryan,
28, Iowa Falls, died Thursday, June 29, 1995, atEllsworth Municipal Hospital in
Iowa Falls of
Injuries received in a jet ski accident on the Iowa River near Alden.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 3, at the
Alden United
Methodist Church, with Dr. Dennis Y. Ginoza, his
uncle from California,
officiating. Interment was in the Clear Lake
Cemetery
Tad was born May 30, 1967, the son of Jim and
Bonnye Ryan,
former residents of Alden,
now residing in Clear
Lake.
Tad began working for Alden Feed Service in 1987
and held
position of general manager for both Alden Feed
Service and advanced management.
On Sept. 21, 1991, he married Stacy Potwin, at the Cedar
Falls Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed by family and
friends. Tad enjoyed every kind of water sport and
snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy, Iowa Falls;
his parents, Jim and Bonnye Ryan,
Clear Lake; a brother, Tyler W. Ryan, New York; a sister, Amanda
Ryan, Clear Lake; grandparents,
Bob and Helen
Hoffman, Alden; grandmother, Melba Ryan, Dows; and
many aunts, uncles
and cousins.

John Siebert Henn
John Siebert Henn, 88, of Clear
Lake, died Tuesday,
July 4, 1995, at Good Shepherd
Care Center in Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services
were held Saturday, July 8, at Immanuel Reformed
Church, rural Belmond, Iowa, with the Rev. Victor
Folkert officiating. Burial was in the Immanuel
Reformed Church Cemetery, rural Belmond. The family suggests memorials to the John S. Henn Memorial Fund.
John Henn was born Nov. 8, 1906, on the family
farm in rural Belmond, the son of Jacob and Grace
Henn. He attended rural school, then high
school in Belmond. He farmed in the Belmond area and
raised furs.
On Sept. 8, 1932, he married Gladys Duregger, in
South Dakota. He became an auctioneer in 1934 and,
together with a partner, established the
Belmond Sale Barn. He later returned to full time
farming and breeding draft horses.
He retired in 1964 and moved to
Clear Lake. He continued his auctioneering profession in
Clear Lake.
He was awarded first place in the craft and
hobbies categories at the North Iowa Fair in 1988
for his miniature reproductions of harnesses and
hitches. John made over 100 sets of harnesses and hitches.
John enjoyed reading, studying farm technology,
antiques, many hours of dancing at the White Pier to
the Surf, good food, visiting and most of all his
family. He volunteered for a number of organizations,
including serving as a driver for Opportunity
Village. He was a member of Immanuel Reformed Church, rural Belmond.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys, a resident of
the Sheffield Care Center; four children, Marcia
Koester and her husband, Robert, Clear Lake,
John Henn and his wife, Rejane of Dubuque, Iowa,
Richard Henn and his wife, Karen, Ankeny, Iowa, William Henn
and his wife, Gladys of Terril, Iowa; a sister, Mrs.
Tillie Meints, Belmond; 12 grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two
brothers, Elmer Henn and Harley Henn.
Pallbearers were Kyle Henn, Adam Henn, Kevin
Henn, Stephanie Henn, Christopher Henn, Rena
Koester.

Wilda (nee Griffith) Sifert
Wilda (Griffith) Sifert, 83, of
Clear Lake, died Friday, July 21, 1995, at the Muse Norris
Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
A celebration of Wilda's life was held Tuesday,
July 25, at the Clear Lake United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Bernard Olson officiating.

Funeral Chapel, 123 2nd St. S.E.,
Mason City, was in charge of arrangements. Interment
was at MemorialPark Cemetery. Those planning an expression of
sympathy may wish to make
donations to the Wycliffe Bible Translators (designated for
David and Karen Sifert) at P.O. Box 2727, Huntington
Beach, Calif. 92647.
Those funds will be used for their
missionary work in Yarinacocha, Peru.
Wilda was born on March 20, 1912, the daughter
of Howard and Iona Griffith, Hampton, Iowa. She
attended school in Mason City and graduated from the
Mason City High School in 1929. She
was employed as a telephone operator for
Northwestern Bell. On Sept. 29, 1934, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Roland Sifert
and to this union were born four
children. Wilda was active in the
4-H, Boy and Girl Scouts, as
her children were growing up. She also taught piano
in her home, as well as enjoying sewing, reading, gardening
and
playing the piano.
She was a member of the Clear Lake United
Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women,
Swaledale Garden Club, the Clear Lake Home
Improvement Club, Central Heights Neighborhood Birthday
Club, the Double F Club, and the Wycliffe Bible Translators
Assoc. She worked as
a volunteer for many different organizations, and
particularly for Opportunity
Village.
She was the mother to David Sifert, Charles
Sifert, Susan Sifert and Crystal Sifert,
her four children; and grandmother to 14
children; and great-grandmother of six. She is also survived by her
sisters, Claribel Bingham, and Dorothy Vesterby; one
brother William Leffingwell; and her sister-in-law Doris
Warren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband, Kenneth in 1972; her sisters, Millicent and
Eva Rae; and one brother Edward Sifert.

Elgin G. Enabnit
Elgin G. Enabnit, 93, of Clear
Lake, died Sunday, July 23, 1995, at Good Shepherd
Care Center in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held Thursday,
July 27,
at 1 p.m., at the United Church of
Christ in Osage. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Mason
City. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today (Wednesday),
July 26, at Major-Erickson Funeral Home, 111
N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with Masonic Rites
by the Osage Lodge at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be at
11 a.m. on Thursday at the church at Osage.
Elgin G. Enabnit was born Sept. 16, 1901, at
Mingo, Iowa, the son of Fred and
Katherine Enabnit. He was married to Clarice Rose Tank of
Mason City in December, 1922, and lived in Mason
City, Marble Rock, Osage and Clear Lake in Iowa and Lewiston
and Milville in Minnesota.
Clarice died in June, 1967. Elgin married Vera J.
Lang of Clear Lake in November of 1968.
Vera died in January, 1994.
...rship before becoming Mayor of Osage. He was
Mayor for 26 years beginning in 1956. He
was instrumental in making many city improvements
during this tenure. Most noteworthy are the
four-lane tree-lined mainstreet and obtaining the
municipal franchise to go along with
the municipal electric utility giving the city the
lowest utility rates in the state.
He was instrumental in forming the North Iowa
Council of Governments and served as its
first president. He helped organize the North Iowa
Crime Commission and served on its board and also as
its president. Elgin served as president of the Osage Chamber
of Commerce,
Chairman of the Mitchell County Cancer Society
for
five years and was first president of
the Mitchell County Historical Society. He was also
president of the Osage Development Corporation and
was Mitchell County's Civil Defense Director for 10
years. He is a charter member of
the Osage Rotary Club and its past president and was
also named a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. Mr. Enabnit
served as Sunday Schoo....
Mr. Enabnit farmed and was in business in
Minnesota, moving to Osage in 1944 where he operated
an oil company and automobile deale...
Teacher and Superintendent and was a member of
the Board of Trustees and served as moderator for 17
years of the Osage United Church of
Christ. He also served three years as President of
the Congregational Laymen of Iowa and three years on the Board
of Directors of the United Church of Christ of Iowa
and was State Moderator.
He served as Master of the Osage Masonic Lodge and
was Commander of the Commandery and was past
president of the North Iowa Shrine Club
and the North Iowa Consistery. He also was a past
Noble Grand of the Osage Odd Fellows Lodge. He was a
member of the Boy Scouts for over 50
years and was president for three years of the Winnebago
Council. He won the highest award for volunteer
workers in the Boy Scouts, the Silver Beaver.
Survivors include five children, Elgin (Jr.)
Enabnit, and his wife,
Phyllis of Weston, Conn., Ted Enabnit, Mason City,
Jerry Enabnit, San
Antonio, Texas, Betty Burling, Minneapolis, Minn.,
and Shirley McGhan
and her husband, Donald, Las Vegas, Nev.; one
step-son, Ron W. Lang
and his wife, Carolyn, Lincoln, Neb.; 17
grandchildren; two step-
grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren; and one
step-great-
grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five
brothers; a daughter;
